My goal is to help you get moving again and feel good doing it. When taking a look at your fitness goals, it is not just about the end results but also the actions you take everyday that matter. Exercise challenges your mind and body by pushing you out of your comfort zone, but how you feel afterwards will be worth the effort.
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF…
I started my fitness career over 10 years ago after graduating from McMaster University with a H.BSc.Kinesiology in 2010. I became a registered kinesiologist and immediately started to work in physiotherapy clinics. While at the local gym, I often ran into past clients that would ask me about exercise technique or what exercises to do. It was there when I reflected on the long-term rehabilitation process that occurs once discharged from the clinic.
For those who have gone through an injury and have recovered in the past, myself included, there is often a feeling of uncertainty or hesitancy with movements even if the tissues have fully recovered.
As a kinesiologist, I love that using rehab exercises can help regain strength and mobility in a clinical setting, but I also wanted to further help people by teaching proper movement strategies for everyday activities. I believe that it is a combination of being able to move well then applying power and speed into those movements while maintaining form and technique that makes for successful training.
After working 4 years as both a kinesiologist and personal trainer, I decided to train full time. My practice is focused on teaching proper technique with progressive overload to help you become stronger for life.
